Abby Rabinovitz and Kaleidoscope
Rabinovitz is a former member of the Klezmer Conservatory Band who currently plays flute with her band Kaleidoscope, interpreting a wide range of world music with a strong jazz undertow. Rabinovitz thrives on being difficult to put into a category and her new album ‘We Used to Dance’-which should make up the bulk of the program–is a fantastic synthesis of Indian, African, Latin and klezmer music, all shot through with a healthy dose of classic jazz. A sure-fire antidote for all those world-music-weary blues.
