Body & Soul

at Vinyl, 6 Hubert St., at Hudson St. (330-9169). Subway: 1, 9 to Canal St. On Su evening throngs pack Vinyl to wiggle-n-jiggle amid the lights and house music. A New York must. Doors open at 4pm, but things really grind 5pm-midnight. $15 for nonmembers, $10 for members.

The Duplex

61 Christopher St. (255-5438). Subway: 1, 9 to Christopher St. A renowned piano bar always abuzz with performances by the talented waitstaff. The Duplex is filled with merry theatrical throngs who can recite every lyric from On the Twentieth Century, and will. The crowd mingles on the colorful outdoor “beach” patio. Cabaret performance room and game room with pool, poker and darts upstairs. Mixed gay and straight crowd. Beer $4. Open daily 5pm-4am.
